Do the gifts really come in crates?

In most cases, the answer is yes!  And the crates come in two sizes, small (9"x12") and large (12"x18").  In addition, other gift packaging is sometimes offered, and will be detailed on those specific product pages where offered.

What if I don’t see exactly what I need in your Online Gift Shop?

Do you provide gifts for events?

Absolutely!  We will work with you on your gifting needs, whether for weddings, corporate events, or client gifting.  Examples are bridal party and groomsmen gifts, housewarming gifts via realtors/apartments, and welcome gifts at creative parties.  For custom inquiries, please visit here.

How much notice is needed for orders?

Online Gift Shop

Orders in our online shop typically ship out within 2 to 3 business days. For very large orders the turnaround time might be longer.  In those cases we will contact you with an estimate on the shipping date.

Custom Gift Design Service

We will work closely with you to create just the gift experience you envision.  Each project will be carefully curated, whether from offerings of my current vendors or new ones, to your specifications.  For individual custom gifts, a turnaround time of 1-2 weeks is typical.  For event gifting, preference is for a 3-4 week time period for both sourcing and gift assembly.  Any rush orders will be accommodated as availability permits.

Where do you deliver?

We deliver to personal residences and places of business within the continental United States.  International shipping is offered on a case by case basis, as there are size/weight limitations to be considered.  If you wish to ship internationally, please inquire at  We ship via USPS or Fed Ex.

Soon we will also be offering local delivery in the north Austin, Texas area, and will keep you updated as that service becomes available.

How much do you charge for shipping?

Flat rate shipping of $9.00 is offered in the continental US up to a total weight of 25 lbs., for products going to the same physical address.   Orders weighing over 25 llbs. will not process; please contact me for shipping costs.  Packages will be shipped to Alaska and Hawaii via USPS and are calculated at checkout up to a total weight of 11 lbs.  If you are shipping a package to either Alaska or Hawaii and it exceeds 11 lbs. total weight, please contact me or place individual orders.

Which forms of payment do you accept?

For all online transactions, we gladly accept all major credit cards via Shopify Payments or Paypal Express. You do not need a Paypal account to purchase from Farmhouse Crates. For our Custom Gift Design projects, we accept all major credit cards via Stripe.

Do you charge sales tax?

We do collect sales tax for products purchased from anyone within the state of Texas.

What if I also want to add a personalized card?

I have a lovely botanical card (blank inside) that is available with any order.  If you would like a message card choice (there are many!), order via the Add a Card product page.  For any card,  just leave your desired message in the notes when checking out, otherwise the inside will remain blank.

What if I would like to add flowers?

The option to add flowers will be available soon, for local hand deliveries.

Do you ship air plants during the winter months?

For hand-delivery orders
Can be delivered if included in your gift choice any time of year.  Hand deliveries are made in heated vehicles.

For shipping orders
Air plants will NOT be shipped from mid October through February, due to risk of adversely cold weather.  Additionally, Farmhouse Crates will be unable to issue refunds for loss of live plants during shipping at any time of year.

Do you ship chocolate/caramel during the summer months?

For hand-delivery orders
Can be delivered if included in your gift choice any time of year, as deliveries are made in fully air-conditioned vehicles.

For shipping orders
Please note that ordering items subject to melting is at your own risk. Chocolate and caramel products will not be shipped from June-August.  In those cases a food substitution will be made.  From September through May, gift boxes with these foods will only be shipped on Mondays and Tuesdays. That (almost always) eliminates the chance that your box will spend a weekend in a warehouse.

What we cannot do is protect your treats if the box is left outside in the sunshine on a hot porch. You know your house and your schedule better than we do: if you won't be around most of a summer day, ship to the mail room at your office or another appropriate location.  Due to length of time in transit, no international shipments are allowed for gift boxes with food items. 

Quality upon delivery of these items cannot be guaranteed by Farmhouse Crates. We will be unable to issue refunds as a result of melting regardless of the time of year.

What is your return policy?

All orders are final sale and non-refundable. If your order arrives and you’re not satisfied, please contact us within 24 hours of arrival and we will work with you to make sure you are completely satisfied.

Why do you need my email address for orders?

We will use your email to provide order confirmation, delivery tracking, and information relevant to Farmhouse Crates. We respect your privacy and hate spam just as much as you do. Rest assured that your email address and personal information will not be provided to any third parties.

What happens when I provide my email address via your home page sign-up?

You become a friend of Farmhouse Crates, and will occasionally receive updates on new products and discounted offers.   We promise not to overrun your inbox with email, because we don't like that either!
